MBTA escalators: the future looks very still

I can't believe that the MBTA renewed this contract again.

The secret is, of course, that KONE "underbid two other companies by nearly 50 percent".

Huh, wonder how they were able to bid so low.

Mabye, it's because they don't actually fix anything, ever.

I don't go through Porter Square any more for my commute, but when I did, one escalator was broken at least 25% of the time. This is bad, because people have actually been known to hire Sherpas when they have to climb those steps.

I'd say that at least 10% of the time, all of the escalators were broken, and adorned with a sign indicating they would be fixed last week.

Is it better now?
